Mount Everest

The first ascent of Mount Everest, the world's highest mountain, is one of the most famous stories in mountaineering. The mountain was first summitted by Sir Edmund Hillary and Tenzing Norgay on May 29, 1953. The pair reached the summit after a long and arduous climb, and their success was hailed as a major triumph for mountaineering.

The first ascent of Everest was also a major event for Nepal, where the mountain is located. The Nepalese people were proud of the fact that two of their own had reached the summit of the world's highest mountain, and they celebrated the event with great fanfare. The first ascent of Everest also helped to put Nepal on the map as a mountaineering destination, and it has since become one of the most popular trekking destinations in the world.

K2, the world's second highest mountain, is often referred to as the "Savage Mountain." It is a notoriously difficult mountain to climb, and it has claimed the lives of many climbers over the years. The first ascent of K2 was made by an Italian expedition led by Ardito Desio on July 31, 1954. The expedition reached the summit after a long and difficult climb, and their success was hailed as a major triumph for mountaineering.

The first ascent of K2 also helped to put Pakistan on the map as a mountaineering destination, and it has since become one of the most popular trekking destinations in the world.

Annapurna

Annapurna, the world's tenth highest mountain, is one of the most dangerous mountains to climb. It has a fatality rate of over 30%, and it has claimed the lives of many climbers over the years. The first ascent of Annapurna was made by a French expedition led by Maurice Herzog on June 3, 1950. The expedition reached the summit after a long and difficult climb, and their success was hailed as a major triumph for mountaineering.

The first ascent of Annapurna was also a major event for Nepal, where the mountain is located.
